Eleven-year-old Jack Putnam and his eighth-year-old brother Benny are being dragged against their will on a summer-long vacation with their family. And not to somewhere cool like Disney World, but to a little port town in Maine named Chowder Bay, far away from anyplace fun. But what promises to be a very bleak summer quickly becomes a series of exciting adventures in one of the most mysterious places on earth!

An Old Bear dreams of his younger days and enjoys a fantastical romp through each of the four seasons. When he awakes from hibernation and walks out into a gorgeous spring day, it takes him a moment to realize that he’s not dreaming anymore.

Mr. Putter and tabby are bored, and hot, and they need an orangesicle…Luckily, their adventurous neighbor Mrs. Teaberry and her dog Zeke are always up for some fun.  They head off for a sightseeing cruise, and have such a fabulous time, it’s hard to peel themselves (and especially Zeke!) off the boat.
