Rosie the hen goes out for a walk around the farm, totally unaware that she is being trailed by a fox. Along the way, she unwittingly foils him at every turn, returning home safe, in time for dinner.

Brilliant concept, beautifully drawn and executed. The text is literally one sentence spread out over the entire book, alternating pages with words and without. The art is the real storyteller here, rendered in a palate of oranges, avocados and lemons, with the perfect amount of black ink detail. It’s classic 1960’s, yet timeless all at once.
